Norfolk & Chance - 20.02.10

CARPATHIANS 3 - 6 Norfolk & Chance

Up against a strong side Carpathians started brightly and took the lead on 5 minutes from a free kick, which Nathan Marshall shot at goal. The resulting rebound found RICHARD BARNES at the far post. The veteran striker, with scant disregard to putting his back out, lobbed the ball over his head into the far corner.

A Norfolk & Chance free kick, which Carpathians failed to clear
resulted in an equalizer on 14 minutes. However, Carpathians had a chance to take the lead again when awarded a penalty but sadly, Gavin Sweeby sent it
straight at the keeper.

The game settled down into an end to end affair but with no further goals until just before half-time when Norfolk & Chance were
awarded a penalty of their own - and scored.

The second half saw Norfolk &
Chance come out the stronger and extended their lead after 53 minutes and then
6 minutes later.

Carpathians carried on playing some neat passing moves and
were eventually rewarded after 73 minutes when a shot by RICHARD BARNES trickled
through the keepers legs, probably caught out by the lack of pace.

Norfolk &
Chance came straight back and scored again from long distance after Carpathians
failed to close down.

RICHARD BARNES then completed his hat-trick 5 minutes later
but Norfolk & Chance had the last say with another goal in the last minute of
the game.

Passing massively improved this week but still failed to close down
players on the edge of the area.
