Carpathians turned out for their second Sunday team friendly of the season against a very young Mariners Compass. Carpathians were put under pressure from the start and Mariners Compass came close to scoring on 6mins but miskicked to go wide.
Jimmy Youngs had a good chance on 16mins but went high. A few good passing moves later there was a mass scramble in the Mariners goal mouth on 20mins but keeper got his hands to it. Mariners kept up the pressure which saw them break through our defense only to be stopped by our keeper Wayne Flowerday with a great save.
Knowing we had to step up the pace Carpathians fought hard a created some good passing moves with Daniel Saunders creating a good link up with CLINT NELSON who scored on 25mins with a cracking header. This boosted the team and more good chances were created with a good flick-on from Leeroy Ray but just went wide. Mariners still kept up their pace and had good chances on goal but with a change of keeper Lewis Oram had to punch the ball off his line to clear the ball. Half time score Carpathians 1 - 0 Mariners Compass.
Going into the second half the game was as much the same as the first only Carpathians started to tire in the heat which meant Mariners Compass took that advantage and scored on 84mins making it a draw.
